Dutch goalkeeper Edwin Van der Sar confirmed on Thursday that he has pulled out of their Euro 2008 qualifying double-header against Romania and Slovenia because of a foot injury.

AZ Alkmaar goalie Boy Waterman has been called up to complete the line-up by the Dutch football federation (KNVB), but Ajax's Maarten Stekelenburg is expected to take Van der Sar's spot.

Coach Marco van Basten will also be without the suspended Robin van Persie, Wesley Sneijder and Mario Melchiot for Saturday's match in Romania. The trio will return to the fold for Wednesday's tie against Slovenia at Eindhoven.

The Netherlands are joint top of Group G with Romania with 20 points after eight games, two points ahead of Bulgaria, with Slovenia on 10 points.
